Are you just interested in the clean and squeaky? Looking for the healthiest organic children’s shampoo but don’t have much time? We’ve got you covered! Here are our top three recommendations for the finest children’s shampoos:

I recall using tear-free yellow shampoo in the tub every night when I was a baby. And I don’t think I’m the only one. Because so many of us remember yellow kids shampoo from our own childhoods, I’d imagine that it’s one of the most popular kids shampoos among Gen X and Millennial parents.

My initial inclination as a parent was to use the same shampoo, conditioner, detangler, and lotion that I remembered from my youth. But before I bought anything, I did some research and checked in with my mom friends.

And I’m overjoyed that I did!

As it turns out, several chemicals in popular baby shampoo products make me uncomfortable using them on my own child. Unspecified components, such as scent, worry me since there’s no way of knowing what ingredients go into producing that aroma. In addition, phthalates are frequently found in fragrances (suspected endocrine disruptors).

Since my children were born, I’ve learned a lot and am now acutely aware of how personal care items like shampoo, conditioner, bubble bath, lotions – indeed, even laundry detergent, cleansers, and dish soap – may negatively impact my family’s health. As a result, I now seek plant-based baby shampoos with natural ingredients, as well as other ecologically friendly options like glass bottles and sippy cups, as well as plastic-free baby spoons

I’d want to share that information with you today. I hope it assists you in making better selections and locating the safest baby shampoo for your own children, as well as natural shampoo for older children.

The Best Natural Kids Shampoo

Most importantly, I checked the Skin Deep Database of the Environmental Working Group (EWG) to make sure the kids shampoo I included is as safe as possible.

EWG assigns a rating to items on a scale of one to ten, with one being the safest and ten being the most dangerous. EWG also has an EWG VERIFIEDTM label, which indicates that the product satisfies the most stringent ingredient and manufacturing requirements. EWG VERIFIEDTM goods do not contain any substances that the EWG considers to be harmful.

I’m quite particular about the personal care items I use on my own kid, and I only want to use the safest options. I also create my own soap playdough and bath finger paints for this reason.

As a result, I’ve only listed EWG VERIFIEDTM (the best) or 1/10 (the safest rating other than EWG VERIFIEDTM) goods. I also looked at the EWG’s danger ratings for component ingredients.

It’s worth mentioning that all of the organic children’s shampoos on this list are available on Amazon.

I don’t have a lot of time for shopping, so I order a lot of my necessities through Amazon Prime, and I’m sure a lot of other parents do as well!

It’s also worth mentioning that firms alter their formulas from time to time; I’ve done my best to make sure this is true at the time of writing, but it’s subject to change. If you’re still unsure, I recommend checking out the Environmental Working Group’s (EWG) Skin Deep Database — it’s a fantastic resource! At the end of the day, this is simply my viewpoint; you must create your own!

The 13 natural baby shampoo products I’ve included in this list are listed below. They’re all EWG VERIFIEDTM or scored a 1/10 on the EWG’s safety scale.

All three of our wins are EWG VERIFIEDTM. All component components in Babo Botanicals Sensitive is individually scored as 1/10, which implies that all of the substances in these two kids’ shampoos are, in my opinion, the safest conceivable.

I believe the Hello Bello Lavender is the safest scented product since it only includes one component element with a danger rating greater than 1/10 – and that ingredient is rated 2/10 (still extremely safe!).

The additional shampoos for kids that I’ve included are listed below. Three of them have earned the EWG VERIFIEDTM seal (Baby Mantra 3-in-1, Baby Mantra Newborn Shampoo and Wash, and Babo Botanicals Lavender and Meadowsweet 3-in-1). Other than verified status, the remaining 8 options are all rated 1/10, which is the safest grade.

  • EWG VERIFIEDTM Baby Mantra 3 in 1 Bubble Bath, Shampoo, and Body Wash (two substances rated 2/10 on a danger scale [low hazard]).
  • EWG VERIFIEDTM Baby Mantra Newborn Shampoo & Body Wash (with 2 components rated 2/10 [low danger] and 1 ingredient rated 3/10 [moderate]).
  • EWG VERIFIEDTM Babo Botanicals Lavender & Meadowsweet Calming Shampoo, Bubble Bath & Wash contains 4 ingredients rated 2/10 (low danger) and 1 ingredient rated 5/10 (moderate hazard).
  • Burt’s Bees Baby Shampoo
  • California Baby Tea Tree and Lavender
  • California Baby Super Sensitive
  • Nurture my Body Organic Baby Shampoo and Wash
  • Aquaphor Baby Wash and Shampoo
  • Eucerin Baby Shampoo
  • Baby Bum Shampoo and Wash (Fragrance Free)

EWG VERIFIEDTM fragrance-free shampoo and wash, with all ingredients receiving the EWG’s highest safety rating of 1/10. This shampoo and body wash comprises organic and plant-based components and is devoid of harsh chemicals and scents.

Babo Botanicals’ products are made in the United States and are PETA-certified cruelty-free. This natural kids shampoo has also been evaluated by dermatologists and pediatricians, is tear-free, and free of common allergies including gluten, soy, and dairy.

It’s also devoid of sulphates, parabens, and phthalates, among other things.

On the EWG’s Hazard Scale, all of the components receive a 1/10. This, in my opinion, makes this one of the safest children’s shampoos available.

Hello Bello Calming Lavender Shampoo and Body Wash

This 2-in-1 shampoo and body wash is cruelty-free and vegan. Sulfates, SLS, and SLES, synthetic fragrance, phthalates, parabens, formaldehyde donors, common allergies (gluten, peanut, and dairy), and MEA, DEA, and TEA are all absent.

Our top picks are fragrance-free, but if you prefer a scented shampoo and wash, this is the finest option. This kids shampoo is EWG VERIFIEDTM, just like the top two options.

Overall, it’s a fantastic option. Because one component is rated as a 2/10 on the EWG Hazard Scale, I put it in third place.

Still extremely safe and in the “low danger” category, and a wonderful alternative if you want a little scent.

These three more natural baby shampoos didn’t make our top three list, but they’re all EWG VERIFIEDTM, so they’re excellent choices.

Other Great Natural Shampoo’s For Kids
